Welcome to Voice. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Voice application and website at voicenews.app (the “Service”), operated by Voice Politics Inc. (“Voice,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. By using Voice, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's consent to use the Service.
2. Account Registration
To access certain features of the Service (including rating politicians), you must create an account. When registering, you agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information (including your residential address, which is used to match you with your elected officials).
- Maintain the security of your account credentials and not share them with others.
- Notify us immediately at hi@hello.voicenews.app if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
- Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. The Service
What Voice Does
Voice is a civic engagement platform that allows users to rate their elected officials on a 0–100 scale in response to political moments (news events, votes, statements, and policy actions). Your ratings contribute to a public, real-time political sentiment barometer.
Editorial Content
Moments published on Voice are written with a nonpartisan editorial standard. Each moment includes AI-generated summaries with cited sources, presenting multiple perspectives. Voice does not endorse any political party, candidate, or ideology.
Aggregated Data
Your ratings are combined with those of other users to produce anonymized, aggregated sentiment data. This data may be made publicly available and/or licensed to third parties (including campaigns, journalists, academics, and prediction market analysts) through our Wonk data product. Individual voter identities are never exposed. See our Privacy Policy for details.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
- Create multiple accounts, use bots, scripts, or automated tools to submit ratings or interact with the Service.
- Attempt to manipulate ratings, game the sentiment data, or engage in coordinated inauthentic behavior.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation with any person or entity.
- Provide a false address or misrepresent your location to be matched with officials who do not represent you.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks connected to the Service.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other accounts, or systems.
- Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm any individual, including elected officials.
- Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to extract data from the Service without our written consent.
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any aspect of the Service.
We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action against anyone who violates these provisions, including removing ratings, suspending or terminating accounts, and reporting violations to law enforcement.
5. Intellectual Property
Our Content
The Service and its original content (excluding user-submitted ratings), features, and functionality are owned by Voice Politics Inc. and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our prior written consent.
Your Ratings
By submitting a rating on Voice, you grant Voice Politics Inc. a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable license to use, aggregate, anonymize, and distribute that rating as part of our aggregated sentiment data products. You retain no individual ownership claim over aggregated data that incorporates your ratings.
Feedback
Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide about the Service are entirely voluntary, and we may use them without any obligation to compensate you.
6. Third-Party Services and Content
The Service may contain links to third-party websites, news sources, or services. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party sites. Inclusion of any link does not imply endorsement by Voice.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that:
- The Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
- The results obtained from the Service (including aggregated sentiment data) will be accurate or reliable.
- Any defects in the Service will be corrected.
Voice is not a polling organization and does not claim that its sentiment data constitutes a scientifically representative poll or survey. Aggregated ratings reflect the opinions of Voice users, not a statistically weighted sample of the general population.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Voice Politics Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from:
- Your access to or use of (or inability to access or use) the Service.
- Any conduct or content of any third party on the Service.
- Any content obtained from the Service.
- Unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your data.
Our total liability for any claims arising from or related to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Voice Politics Inc. and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any rights of another party.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnification, and limitation of liability.

11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the “Last Updated” date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service.
13. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
14. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Voice Politics Inc. regarding the Service and supersede any prior agreements.
